Our Mission
The RTW Institute is a policy research organization focused on strengthening the systems that turn scientific discovery into accessible, life-saving medicines. We work at the intersection of medical innovation, health policy, and patient outcomes to advance solutions that support both innovation and affordability.
The RTW Institute, is an independent, non-profit organization that operates within the RTW Investments, LP group in a research and policy capacity.
What We Do
The United States leads the world in biomedical research, yet too often patients struggle to access the treatments that innovation makes possible. We examine why these gaps persist and how policy frameworks—from regulatory pathways to market incentives—can be improved to better serve patients, families, and the healthcare system as a whole.
Through research, policy analysis, and public engagement, we develop pragmatic, evidence-based recommendations that promote a resilient innovation ecosystem while keeping patient needs at the center. The Institute’s work is designed to inform policymakers, empower patient advocates, and contribute to a more effective and equitable healthcare system.
